In the Pisgah National Forest, one is surrounded by a thick forest in the mountains of North Carolina. Early in the morning after leaving Sliding Rock, the road pretty much followed water for miles as various streams added to the flow.
As I was getting further down the canyon, I found this wonderful stretch of the Coon Tree Creek. The water is shallow here, but the water movement is still pretty brisk. We have a chance to experience the sound of quick water, with the lower, deeper sounding "gurgles". This soundscape is another example of the brown noise spectrum and could be great for meditation, or even focus.
